목차



    사이트 워드는 영어로 된 책이나 문장이라면 가장 많이 마주하게 되는 단어들을 지칭합니다. 특별히 외우기도 하지만 처음 영어책을 접하게 되면 외울 겨를 없이 수시로 나오는 단어들입니다. 이 단어들은 철자의 규칙이나 파닉스의 규칙을 따르지 않는 경우가 많기 때문에 아이들이 쉽게 단어를 익히기가 어려울 수 도 있습니다. 사이트 워드는 "보자마자 알아야 하는" 또는 "보자마자 떠오르는"의 개념으로 설명할 수 있겠습니다. 영어단어는 60만 개 정도인데  sight words는  a, and, for, he, is, in, it, of, that, the, to, was, you의 13개 단어를 포함해 전체의 25퍼센트 정도를 차지합니다.
